Design Date1991
Instrumentation2004. 16 accelerometers at 7 levels in the building (including interstitial floors and a partial 3rd Floor). 3 accelerometers at a reference free-field site.

Vertical Load Carrying SystemConcrete slab (3.25" thick) over 3" metal deck supported by steel frames at main floors and 2.875" concrete over 1.5" metal deck at interstitial floors.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemPerimeter moment resisting steel frames above 1st Floor. Moment connections are present even at interstitial levels. Concrete shear walls between Ground Floor (partial basement) and 1st Floor.
Foundation TypeContinuous concrete spread footings at ground floor and 3' diameter concrete caissons at 1st Floor.
RemarksThere is a 10" seismic gap between the building and an adjacent building to the south. The building has 8' high interstitial floors in between the main floors. This hospital building was instrumented as part of the OSHPD/CSMIP Hospital Instrumentation Project.
