Vertical Load Carrying SystemConcrete slab (2.5" thick) over 3" steel deck with welded metal studs, supported by steel frames. The spans between columns vary from about 10' to 47".
Lateral Force Resisting SystemMoment resisting perimeter steel frame (framed tube) with 10' column spacing. There are Virendeel trusses and 48 inch deep transfer girders at the 36th and 46th floors where vertical setbacks occur.
Foundation TypeConcrete mat foundation, 7' and 9.5' thick, and 6" concrete slab on grade.
RemarksThe building's dynamic analyses showed that the period of the building is about 7.3 sec. The building was designed in accordance with the 1985 L.A. City Code and Title 24 of Calif. Administrative Code.
