Instrumentation1996. 12 accelerometers, on 4 levels in the building. 3 accelerometers at a reference free-field site.
 
Vertical Load Carrying SystemCast-in-place one-way concrete slabs, 4" to 7" thick, supported on concrete beams and girders in the interior, and 5' to 5.5' deep spandrel beams and concrete shear walls at the perimeter.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemConcrete walls and concrete moment frames in the three-story base structure. Concrete moment frames in both directions and concrete walls in transverse direction for the nine-story tower. Strengthening: steel-braces added in the tower in the longitudinal direction. 4.5" shotcrete over transverse shear walls.
Foundation TypeColumns on isolated spread footings; walls on continuous footings.
