Vertical Load Carrying SystemConcrete slabs over metal decks supported by steel frames on high damping rubber bearings.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemConcentrially-braced steel frames isolated by high damping rubber bearings and viscous damping devices. (Five buildings are isolated by a total of 392 rubber bearings and 184 dampers.)
Foundation TypeConcrete spread footings under columns, tied with grade beams.
RemarksThere are five buildings at the Medical Center, three are instrumented. The funding for instrumentation was provided by the hospital owner as required by OSHPD. CSMIP provided assistance in instrumentation.
