Vertical Load Carrying System3.5" thick concrete over 3" metal deck at the 2nd floor. 2.5" thick concrete over 2" metal deck at the roof. Metal deck is supported by steel frames. Design Live Load is 20 psf for roof and 125 psf for 2nd floor slab.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemMoment-resisting steel frames in the longtidinal direction. Eccentric braced and moment-resisting steel frames in the transverse direction.
Foundation Type18" to 36" diameter concrete piers, 15' to 21' long. Columns are supported by groups of 1 to 4 piers. Pier caps are interconnected by grade beams.
RemarksThis building is located about 60' west of the Hayward Fault. It was designed as per 1985 UBC.
