Lateral Force Resisting SystemDistributed moment resisting steel frames with composite floor diaphragms. Concrete shear walls in the basement are tied to the steel frames by floor diaphragms.

Remarks(1) Building was designed as per UBC 1979 and the California Adminstrative Code, Title 24. (2) It was instrumented as part of the OSHPD/CSMIP Hospital Instrumentation Project. (3) Building instrumented is the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) addition.
